NIPHLE 2010 DESIGN COMPETITION
SPECIFICATIONS
ELIGIBILITY:
Participation in the NIPHLE Annual Design Competition is encouraged for all individuals
or teams in government, industry, and academia who feel they have made a valuable
contribution in the fields of packaging, handling, or logistics. Participation is
not limited to NIPHLE members. For Downloadable Mail-in Entry Form

Categories
- Long-Life Packaging Usually featuring: Complex design, specialized engineering/testing,
emphasizes shipping and protection during long-term storage, frequently reusable.
- Short-Life Packaging Usually of simpler design, lower engineering/equipment investment,
emphasizes protection in the shipping environment.
- Material Handling Device Automated or manual Any size load Safer / more efficient
handling Auxiliary equipment.
- Computer Software Program / System Free standing systems Multi-client Quality /
economy in task results Membership in NIPHLE is welcomed and encouraged.

AWARDS: Awards for the winners in each
category will be formally presented at the NIPHLE Training Conference which will
be held in San Diego, CA, in March, 2010.
Award winners will be notified by telephone
or by e-mail prior to the conference.
Personal attendance of the award recipients
at the conference is encouraged for both NIPHLE members and non-members. For those
unable to attend, the awards will be mailed after the conference. First-place awardees
are invited to make presentations at the conference and all award winners are featured
on the NIPHLE website at http://www.niphle.org.
